The Digital Revolution and Document Scanning

0

It’s an old saying and can often be considered a bit of a cliché, but time is money. Time and time spent is money being spent so in a lot of cases, especially now with the economy not being too great pretty much anywhere, every second can count and that’s why businesses should start focusing on what can save them time rather than cutting costs in other ways.

Document management is still to this day one of the most overlooked processes in business. A standard paper centric document management system quite literally eats time due to the continuous need for staff to be getting up and seeking out documents which quite often aren’t where they’re expected to be, often due to mis-management and just plain old bad organisation. This not only makes processes that should take moments turn into minute, which can sometimes turn into hours. This is not only bad for the company but also the staff working within the company because of mounting work loads and usually less resources than are actually needed. This may all sound a little extreme and analytical, but think about this compared to a system that could more than half the time of this process. (more…)

Hiring Good Freelancers

Freelancers

On the Internet there are quite a few websites where you can hire Freelancers. Just type in “hire freelancers” and a whole bunch of web addresses will pop up. The first four or five addresses that pop up are very popular choices amongst most marketers. I personally recommend these sites.

Let’s look at Elance first – a very popular well-known freelance website. Here you can search through a number of different freelancers’ portfolios. What you’re checking for is their feedback. People with high feedback, majority positive and may be, a few negatives are less likely to do a bad job than others might do.

You can also post a bid request and have freelancers bid for your job. You will get a variety of prices and freelancers to choose from, but, mildly saying, don’t automatically choose the lowest price. Lower priced freelancers are sometimes cheap because they’re less experienced. But having said that, it’s not always the case. Many times they will be cheap because they’re new to the site and they need to build a reputation.

Other really well-known sites to hire freelancers are – not in any typical order are PeoplePerHour.com, odesk.com, Freelancer.com and Rent-a-coder.com.

With all the mentioned, as with Elance, search profiles of many freelancers – check their feedback good and bad – then decide who to use for your typical tasks that need to be done.

As with Rent-a-coder, another very popular freelancing site amongst marketers. They are very popular for being a place to find programmers, but they don’t only have programmers available.
Here you can also find writers and graphics designers and sometimes people who will do tasks like site submissions and other small tasks.

Another good way to find a decent freelancer is to ask for referrals from friends and acquaintances you’ve met while networking in your typical field.

I haven’t mentioned Forums – another great place to find good freelancers. Hiring people/freelancers through forums has the benefit of being a place where you can look around to see a person’s reputation/profile before you hire them. You can search within the forum for their name to see if any positive or negative remarks have been made about them.

And why not post on a forum and ask for recommendations. You’ll certainly get a number of recommendations, as well as a few private messages from freelancers who want to work for you.

Finding the Best Corporate Entertainment for Any Event

Providing some type of entertainment at your corporate function is an excellent way to entertain your guests and provide them with an event to remember. If it falls with in your remit to find and organise such entertainment then your best step would be to research booking agencies to establish if they have the experience and type of entertainment that may be suitable for your event.

Reputable booking agents will have the experience and expertise to be able to advise you on what is suitable for each venue and audience. A professional booking agency will have pre prepared programmes that have been tried and tested with feed back that may help you in your search for the perfect entertainment.

Not all booking agents are good and you will need to look at several to see what they have organised in the past before making any decisions. A good booking agent will have testimonials from other companies that should be studied and possibly followed up personally. This initial research is invaluable as most companies have to work within a budget and you will need to ensure that the agent you decide to work with is able to provide suitable entertainment and keep to your financial requirements. Commercial Laundry Equipment

Commercial laundry equipment should always be used for commercial enterprises where lots of washing is necessary. Commercial equipment is far better than ordinary equipment in that the parts are built much more strongly and will last a longer time. The motors of ordinary equipment such as washing machines and dryers will wear out very quickly if they are used more than a normal household would use them.

Commercial equipment is often required to run day and night for seven days a week since companies such as hotels and motels often need to have their laundry back ready for use again within 24 hours. This kind of constant usage will quickly wear out ordinary machines that are only meant to go a few times a week – or at most an hour or two per day.

People who have larger families may choose to buy commercial laundry washers and dryers as they can efficiently cope with a greater work load than normal machines. It would probably work out a great deal cheaper for them to spend the larger initial amount so that they do not have to keep on replacing their machines.

Not only are the motors and other parts made of higher quality materials, but the external parts such as the drums and the walls are made of higher grade metal – usually stainless steel so that it does not degrade or rust over time. Often, the machines for home use have plastic components that go brittle and crack after a few years, thus rendering the machine useless. (more…)
